Summer 2008

Summer 2008

Hello! Even though summer was slow in coming this year, we had a marvelous time! We went to CA for a family vacation, took Chloe on her first tent camping trip, spent many hours tending to our garden, my Dad and Vicky visited, and Chloe and I went swimming - a lot!

Chloe had SO much fun at Disneyland. You know how you imagine how the day might be - short lines, not too hot, no tantrums, fun on every ride - well that was our day. We thought Chloe would want to see the Princess and do the Fantasy Faire stuff, but no. She wanted to go on the rides and she went on all the rollercoasters with us (yes, even Space Mountain!).

We were advised to rent a stroller because eventually she would get exhausted and would want to be carried. She was so excited to be there that we could not keep up with her for most of the day. When we arrived, we told her she could get 2 things - whatever she wanted. I was showing her the adorable pink mouse ears, the darling princess dresses, the Tinker Bell spinning light thing, bot no! She chose the pirate sword so she could fight Captain Hook and a big rubber snake. Such a Daddy's girl!

My Dad and Vicky visited in June and it was great to spend time with them.

We took Chloe on her first camping trip in August. She had a blast and was definitely in her element - dirt, rocks and water! All her favorites.

Chloe and I spent lots of time working in our veggie garden. We grew corn, carrots, onions, green onions, lettuce, swiss chard, yellow squash, pumpkins, green beans, peas, tomato's and hot peppers (for Shon, of course!).

Chloe and Ramsey (our neighbor) eating peas that they just picked!

And lastly, we spent so much time swimming this summer. Chloe is "swimming" (sort of), but well enough that I could actually sit by the pool and read while she played in the water.
A day at the lake.
